MIAA releases first high school basketball state tournament power ratings

The MIAA released the first edition of the winter state tournament power rankings on Friday.
On the boys side, 28 South Shore teams are currently on track to make the tournament. Norwell was the highest-rated team, coming in at No. 3. in Div. 3. New Heights, a charter school in Brockton, was No. 9 in Div. 4. Holbrook checked in at No. 10 in Div. 5.
On the girls side, 29 teams are currently in the field. Notre Dame Academy is the highest-ranked team at No. 2 in Div. 2. Weymouth checks in at No. 5 in Div. 5.
As a reminder, teams that finished ranked inside the top 32, plus all teams below that with a .500 or better record, qualify for the state tournament.
