Taste of Brazil Bakery, a bakery located at 696 Crescent St., Brockton is a family-run business serving fresh baked goods daily and hot authentic dishes. If starting your day with a warm piece of bread and coffee sounds like a good morning pick me up, then Taste Of Brazil is the spot for you. Not only do they have bread baked fresh daily, but they have dozens of desserts and treats from Brazil.
Hartley's Jamaican Restaurant
Are you dreaming of sipping coconut water and eating ackee and saltfish by the beach? Well, there isn't a beach in Brockton, but Hartley's Jamaican Restaurant on 748 N. Main St. has all the island flavor you can ask for.
The quick grab-and-go restaurant serves fresh pressed juices, traditional Jamaican breakfasts of ackee and saltfish, salt mackerel, callaloo, fried dumplings, boiled white and yellow yams, boiled plantain, and several flavors of porridge.
Sunset Café
Sunset Café, rooted at 1110 Main St., gives Brockton a taste of traditional Cape Verdean breakfast with a splash of American cuisine. Customers often enjoy their most popular fried egg dish with CV sausage and cachupa. This signature dish is a staple in CV cuisine. Cachupa is a slowly stewed dish made of hominy, beans, cassava, sweet potatoes, fish or meat, pork, beef, or chicken.
Luanda's Restaurant
Luanda's Restaurant, located at 453 Centre St., Brockton also gives you the best of both worlds of Cape Verdean and Angolan cuisine. The restaurant offers a complete brunch on Sundays with a twist of classic American dishes, including French toast drizzled with syrup and topped with fruit, fried eggs, CV sausage, chef-created omelet (build your own), cachupa, mini-Portuguese rolls with fried eggs, chorizo, and sweet plantains. The best part about this is you can make your own cachupa by adding or removing meat and other vegetables. Customers could also add CV tuna if their heart desires.
Yaz's Table
Yaz's Table, located at 1209 Bedford St., Abington, serves an Egyptian brunch that will knock your socks off. The owner Yasmine Zakhary, prides herself in bringing unique seasonings and recipes all the way from Africa to your table. She uses family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Zakhary recommends every dish at Yaz's Table, but some popular fixings include Kofta steak and eggs marinated for 24 hours in a blend of Zakhary's six Egyptian spice recipe. The menu is comprised of Mediterranean dishes, ranging from hummus mezze boards and Momma Maggie's falafel platters to pancake tacos smothered with Nutella and braised short rib herbed with goat cheese and crispy leeks.
Ore A Love story
Ore A Love Story, located at 434 Pearl St, Stoughton, is a restaurant like no other in the area, with a mix of Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant is known for the owner's love story of how they met and opened a business. Popular food items include fresh mimosas, Jamaican beef patties, Haitian rice, jerk chicken, Belgian waffles, shrimp, and loaded cheese grits.
Delicious Restaurant
Delicious Restaurant located at 1753 Main St., Brockton, is serving up authentic Haitian cuisine right from his mother's recipe book from Haiti. The menu comprises classic Haitian dishes, including breakfast. Customers can enjoy boiled plantains with eggs, pate kode (a flaky stuffed pastry), bouyon (a vegetable and meat soup), and Haitian spaghetti for a morning pick-me-up. Other popular dishes include rice and beans served with a legume (simmered vegetables and meat), macaroni gratinée (a Haitian version of macaroni and cheese), salad Russe (a potato salad with beets), mayi (cornmeal with spinach and codfish), and the conch shrimp plate served with rice, plantains, and salad.
