Where are the best cider doughnuts in New England? This map has over 250 options to try
Are you an apple cider doughnut enthusiast? Then there's a perfect map for you.
The Google Map showcasing the many options for cider doughnuts around New England was created by Alex Schwartz, a self-proclaimed "cider donuteur."
In an interview with NPR's "All Things Considered," Schwartz said the map was first created in 2020, but has since expanded to more than 250 options, from fresh and hot doughnuts to a premade or bakery option.
Schwartz's cider doughnut options are currently centered around the New England region: mainly Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
And the map is certainly popular. According to Google Maps' analytics, it has received over 4.7 million views.

Schwartz also runs an Instagram dedicated to documenting the fall treat, @Ciderdonuteur, which has gathered over 13,000 followers. He told NPR the furthest he has ever driven for a cider doughnut was northern Vermont for both the cider doughnut and a maple creemee, a cold dairy treat made with maple syrup found in the state.

While the map shows only locations in the New England area, Schwartz told NPR it may soon expand to other regions of the country wild about cider doughnuts during the fall, including the in New York, Washington state and the Midwest.
