A 6-point burst + more: Vote for the High School Boys Hockey Player of the Week

A trio of Oliver Ames players (Landon Grothe, Matt Lawson and Shaun Teehan) have been voted the High School Boys Hockey Players of the Week.

Those Tigers combined to receive over 42,000 votes to earn the honor. Grothe, Lawson and Teehan each tallied two goals in a 9-2 win over Wakefield.

And this week's candidates are...

Aidan MacKenzie, Sr., Plymouth North: In his last game against rival Plymouth South, MacKenzie scored a goal and had two assists in a 3-2 win.

Thomas Leger, Sr., Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth: Leger had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over Tri-County. Leger also had a two-goal day in a 4-3 win over Upper Cape Tech.

Jack Corey, Sr., Oliver Ames: Corey tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win over Taunton.

Ryan Elrick, Fr., Canton: Elrick scored two goals in a 4-2 win over Foxboro.

Travis Rugg + Paul Dzavik, Hingham: The Harbormen duo each accounted for two goals in an 8-1 win over Framingham.

Thomas McMellen, Sr., Scituate: McMellen posted a shutout in a 3-0 win over rival Hanover.

Hunter Grafton, Sr., Abington: Grafton scored a hat trick in a 7-3 win over Cohasset/Hull.

Sam Steinman, Soph., Middleboro: Steinman scored three goals and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Stoughton/Brockton.

Luke Tropeano, Sr., Whitman-Hanson: Tropeano has been off to a torrid start to this season with 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in the Panthers first eight games. He exploded for four goals and two assists in a 9-2 win over Bridgewater-Raynham. He also had a goal and an assist in a loss to Scituate.

Jake Adams, Sr., Hopkinton: Adams potted two goals for the Hillers (5-1-2, 3-0-2 TVL) in a 3-3 tie with Norwood on Saturday.

Noah Albright, Sr., Framingham: Albright netted the overtime winner in a 3-2 win over host Walpole on Saturday.

Roman Belli, Sr., Marlborough: This goaltender made 24 saves in back-to-back wins for the Panthers over Hopedale (2-1) and Minnechaug (3-2) to net Marlborough four straight victories before falling to Algonquin on Wednesday.

Ben Paterson, Sr., Franklin: The senior captain and reigning Hockomock League MVP scored two goals and dished out two assists in his third straight multi-goal game as the Panthers defeated North Attleborough, 5-1.

Jesse Rich, Soph., Lincoln-Sudbury: The goalie earned the shutout with over 40 saves for the Warriors as they earned their first win of the season, a 2-0 victory over host Wellesley at Boston Sports Institute.

Nicholas Robbins, Soph., Algonquin: This netminder made enough saves in wins over Auburn (4-3) and Nashoba (6-1) to help the Titans win three in a row.
