Joan Mendes Daniels

Joan Daniels, born December 10, 1938 and mother of Vinton W. Johnson and Michael T. Johnson, passed away on November 18, 2023 at John Muir hospital in Concord, CA just shy of 86. Wife to the late Charles Daniels and daughter to John and Bertha Mendez, passed away suddenly after a short illness. She is survived by not only her two sons, but also her brother Herb Mendez and her sister Rosie Mendez. She was the beloved grandmother to Maya Johnson, Myles Johnson and Madison Johnson, and known as ‘Aunt Sugar’ or ‘Sugar’ to many family and friends. A memorial will be held in January 2024.
